Avro Anson MKI

1935 Avro Anson MH-120

The Anson was designed as a coastal reconnaissance bomber and it did perform some anti-submarine and convoy protection tasks in WWII but its main role was that of a trainer. As a plane from the same stable as the Lancaster Bomber, it was the ideal vehicle for training RAF and Commonwealth crews in navigation, night flights, bombing runs and tactics. Around 11,000 were produced between 1935 and 1952
